How Traffic Will Flow Once the New Interchange at Bomas Is Complete
The interchnage will be a factor to conside when planning for a journey into the Rift Valley Province. Its epected to reduce travel time by a half at the junction of the 3 roads.
Its been almost 3 months since the last time I did an update on Langata Road and what I found today was just amazing. Apart from the usual diversion of traffic from KWS Gate till Wildlife Clubs of Kenya section, China Wu Yi is brewing some structure at the Bomas of Kenya Junction. Welcome to the Bomas Interchange.
From a distance is looks just like any other fly-over replicated from the numerous ones on Thika Road but upon a close inspection the design reveals itself. KURA (Kenya Urban Roads Authority) have even put the artists impression of how it will eventually become on a billboard at the site, quite a noble thought.
Anyway, this is how things are going to be:
- Traffic from Langata Road to Karen direction will proceed inside the underpass straight on to Karen.
- Traffic from Langata Road to Magadi Road (Rongai) will keep far left, avoid the underpass turn left into Magadi Road.
- Traffic from Langata Road to Forest Edge Road (Bomas of Kenya) will keep left, avoid the underpass, enter the roundabout, turn right into Forest Edge Road.
- Traffic from Langata Road to City Center will keep left, avoid the underpass, enter the roundabout, turn right follow the roundabout into a service lane that takes you back to Langata Road.
The rest if the navigations on the roads are quite simple, in-case of a question, ask it in the comments section below and we will respond.
