6 Months Left for China Wu Yi as the KSh. 2 Billion Langata Road Takes Shape
The Ksh. 2 Billion Upgrading of Langata Road which was awarded to China Wu Yi is well on track despite the hot political time up ahead as the country prepares for a general elections in March next year.
With just over 6 more months to the deadline of the project, Langata Road unlike Thika Road might just beat the May 2013 deadline. Work is on schedule despite normal traffic problems that seem to plague all road projects in the country.
At Bomas, where there is expected to be an interchange similar to Pangani, Thika Road, underpasses are slowly taking shape. The area is well below the ground surface so motorists are urged to approach the area with caution. Curious pedestrians too.
China Wu Yi will have to brace for an uphill task due to the upcoming general elections slated for March 2013. IEBC will set up an the elections nerve center at Bomas of Kenya which is right on the path of the project. The contractor will have to pave the highway in readiness to the anticipated traffic of VIPs which will flock the Bomas of Kenya, located along Forest Road.
