China Wu Yi Finalises the Langata Road - Forest Road Junction Interchange
It is the last days of the KSh 2.6 billion Rehabilitation & Upgrading of Langata Road project as China Wu Yi puts on the final touches.
The Government of Kenya, through the Ministry of Roads started the Rehabilitation & Upgrading of Langata Road (KWS Gate/Bomas Junction section) over a year ago and construction has been smooth despite the hot political time the country had to undergo.
The contract for this highway was awarded to China Wu Yi Co at a tune of KSh 2.6 billion.
With the construction period slated to end in 10th May 2013, it seems they will not be done on time. The dual carriageway and interchange at Bomas have taken shape with the highway in use, while the contractor finishes up with the complex interchange.
Construction works involve widening of the road to a dual carriageway with street lighting and other road furniture, construction of an interchange at the Bomas junction and road markings.
Despite working on a highway that has a high traffic volume during peak times, the contractor has observed the timings in regard to traffic volumes.
