Gallery - The SGR Steel Yard

Trains and Railway are large consumers of steel. At the SGR the steel demand is very high. All railway sleepers have reinforced steel. The bridge girders also have renforced steel weighing upto 8 tonnes for each unit

At the Section 7 steel yard, work on steel is a never ceasing process. The steel yard is where steel is bent, cut, welded and tensioned for specific purposes. It feeds the girder making process steel that has to be precisely cut. Machines at this yard  are capable of bending steel of specific sizes. This gallery shows some of the various works done on the steel at the yard.
